In a momentous announcement, BW Energy has initiated safe production from the third well of the highly anticipated Hibiscus/Ruche Phase 1 development, situated within the prestigious Dussafu license in the offshore expanse of Gabon. As the oil gushes forth, the well’s performance aligns seamlessly with expectations, boasting an impressive current production rate of approximately 6,000 barrels per day (bpd).
The DHIBM-5H well, a masterfully executed horizontal drill, was ingeniously orchestrated from the BW MaBoMo production facility, delving deep into the Gamba sandstone reservoir at the Hibiscus field, ultimately attaining a remarkable total depth of 4,245 meters. Soon after its successful completion, the renowned Borr Norve jack-up set forth on its momentous mission to commence drilling operations for the fourth production well, DHIBM-6H.
Excitement prevails as robust production rates persist, accompanied by a wealth of well data that lauds the reservoir’s stellar quality. The irrefutable evidence we have received renews our conviction in witnessing continued, consecutive production growth in Gabon, confidently extending well into 2023 and beyond into early 2024, harmoniously coinciding with the culmination of the expansive drilling program,” asserted Carl Krogh Arnet, the esteemed CEO of BW Energy.
The drilling campaign boasts an ambitious pursuit of four Hibiscus Gamba and two Ruche Gamba wells. With great anticipation, we anticipate these endeavors to culminate in a grand crescendo, amplifying the total oil production to an impressive approximate of 40,000 bpd, thus heralding a promising start to the new year in 2024. As the precious oil emanates from Hibiscus/Ruche, its seamless journey begins, meticulously transported via a well-engineered pipeline to the BW Adolo Floating Production and Storage Offloading vessel, where it undergoes seamless processing and storage before gracefully embarking on its final voyage onto export tankers.
